Community Groups

Our ministry for adults is community groups. Community groups isn't a model or a program, it is a way of life. Every one of us has a deep desire to know others and to be known. Community groups provide the environment for both of these needs to be filled.

In 2003, Dawn and I started a group for young married couples with no children. There were four couples represented in our group when this journey began. During our two year journey, each couple was able to grow in relationship with each other and with God. It was during this time period that I truly understood what small groups were all about and how I had a desperate need for real friendship. I experienced authentic relationships with people on levels that I didn't think would be possible again. You know, those close friends that you had in college. The friends that you would do anything for and would return the favor if needed. Our small group of young married couples grew to a group of 11 couples that all seemed to have their first child within 3 months of each other...I guess it was in the water. Each couple was able to have a support system in place at a moments notice of true friendships to go through one of the most shocking, life-changing events that we go through as human beings and couples. Now our group of 11 couples has become three groups of 4-5 couples that continue to build relationships and build community. Each of us are still close and at a moments notice would drop anything if the phone rang. This is what we desire at New Community. We see a place that connects people. We see a place that makes a difference in the everyday lives of people who live in this community. If you are looking for a place to know and be known...you have found it.

Each community group will consist of 10-14 people who gather together for fellowship, bible-study and prayer. Starting February 1st, each group will meet for 10 weeks and will follow the curriculum that is designated at sign-up.
